Does it hurt?
Sugar paste, unlike wax, is made from pure natural ingredients and sticks only to the hair not the skin. Because of this, it is less painful than waxing and other methods.
The Sugar Shops policy is to remove the hairs as effectively and painlessly as possible. The highly experienced therapists take great care to support the skin properly when removing the sugar and press firmly on the skin immediately after, getting rid of any momentary discomfort.
Experience has shown that the anticipation is often worse than the process itself.
How long does it last?
Two weeks of smoothness with a minimum of 10 days. After this time, the hair grows back very slowly and takes a further three weeks to grow between 1/4 to 1/2 cm, which is just long enough to be removed again. So the most often you could have the treatment is every five to six weeks.
Is it permanent?
With regular treatments, the hairs become softer, sparser and often lighter in colour, therefore less noticeable between treatments. As the hairs are removed with the root, sugaring will not promote growth like shaving or using hair removal creams.
Will it be uncomfortable afterwards?
You will not feel sore afterwards. It actually feels quite nice to feel your clothes against your skin, something you don't experience with a barrier of hair between.
